Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill 655, reports
as follows:
Bill 655 proposes to amend Ordinance 88-83, the Operating Budget for
Fiscal Year 1988-89, by increasing revenues in the Fund Balance from
Previous Year account in the General Fund by 3,000 and
appropriating same to the following account:

010-201-5203.02-115 Police Admin . Division OCE General 3,000
(Summer School Crossing Guards)
The 3,000 will provide funds to hire 8 crossing guards for the 1989
summer school session. This request is in accordance with the
Council 's request that funds be made available from the fund balance .
Your Committee on Finance finds that student safety is always a
concern and that the crossing guards will , in fact, enhance the
safety of summer school students .
Your Committee on Finance is in acc9L4 with the intent and purpose
of Bill 655 and recommends that it pass first reading.
