Your Committee on Finance , to which was referred Bill 630 , reports
as follows:
Bill 630 proposes to amend Ordinance 88-81 , the Capital Improvement
Budget for Fiscal Year 1988-89, by increasing the appropriation for
the following project :
Department of Parks and Recreation
Carvalho Park [ 125,000 ] 1100 ,000
(110-599-5592.23-115)
Funds for this project shall be provided from the Bond Fund Fund
Balance .
Your Committee on Finance has been informed that the reasons for the
need of the funds are as follows : "Severe structural damage , due to
ground termite infestation, has been found throughout the
pavilion/kitchen structure located at Carvalho Park . In addition,
ground settlement and possibly earthquake occurrences have caused
cracks in the concrete floor and posts . Due to these damages ,
repair of the concrete floor , reinforcement of the concrete posts,
and reconstruction of the pavilion and kitchen areas have been
determined to be the most feasible solution . "
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the intent and purpose
of Bill 630 and recommends that it ss first reading.41/Au 1114A
