Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill 611, reports
as follows :
Bill 611 proposes to amend Ordinance 88-83, as amended, the
Operating Budget for Fiscal Year 1988-89, by increasing revenues in
the following account :
3501. 07 DRUG ENFORCEMENT General Fund $225,000
and appropriating same to the following account :
010-201-5218 . 41-115 DRUG ENFORCEMENT General Fund $225,000
Based upon Communication 1743, your Committee understands that this
appropriation is in anticipation of drug enforcement funds to be
received throughout the fiscal year and that approval of Bill 611
would negate the necessity of appropriating each receipt of drug
enforcement funds, as happened in 1987-88.
Your Committee on Finance concurs with the proposal to establish a
drug enforcement appropriation for the whole year , thereby enabling
the Police Department to expedite the use of funds upon receipt .
Your Committee on Fina ce is in accord with the intent and purpose
of Bill 611 and re mmends that it pass first reading.
