Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill 550 , reports
as follows:
Bill 550 proposes to amend Ordinance 87-58 , the Operating Budget for
Fiscal Year 1987-88 , by increasing revenues in Account No.
010-911-5912 . 21-339 , Miscellaneous Insurance Claims and Judgment, by
$60 ,066 .63 , and appropriating same to Account No .
010-201-5215 .46-339 , Police Motor Vehicle Liability Insurance .
Your Committee on Finance is aware that this action is taken to
conform with the .conditions imposed upon the passage of
Resolution 431-88 by the Council on April 20 , 1988 . This ordinance
will replenish a portion of the $92 ,000 that was transferred from
the Miscellaneous Insurance Claims and Judgment account by
Resolution 431-88 .
Your committee is further aware that funds for this appropriation
are provided from the unencumbered balance in the Police Motor
Vehicle Liability Insurance account .
Although the proposal was meant to replenish the Miscellaneous
Insurance Claims and Judgment account, your committee felt that
theseunencumbered funds could be put to more productive use,
especially. .since the Council was informed that the Miscellaneous
Insurance Claims and Judgment account had a sufficient balance to
cover the remainder of the fiscal year . Your committee recommended
that the funds be appropriated as follows:
Kohala Gym Roof $20 ,000 .00
Kamana Senior Center Parking Lot 40 ,066 .63
Your committee requested that the appropriate amendments be prepared
for submittal to the Council .
