No 448-88 reports as follows:
The purpose of Resolution No. 448-88 is to commend Mr . Robert M. Ota
on having been selected as the Financial Services Advocate of the
Year , State of Hawaii and Island of Oahu.
Your Committee on Finance understands that Mr . Ota, a native of the
Big Island, has, through his untiring and dedicated efforts, helped
farmers obtain critical financing needed for their operations. By
providing services above and beyond the call of duty, he has helped
to get farmers the best possible services . His tireless efforts ,
have also helped his employer 's agricultural portfolio to grow from
$4 million in 1974 to $26 million in 1987 .
Your committee further understands that his efforts have led to the
economic betterment of the wider community.
Your Committee on Finance concurs with the intent of Resolution
No. 448-88 and recommends its adoption.
