Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution
No. 430-88, reports as follows :
The purpose of Resolution No . 430-88 is to authorize the Director of
Finance to dispose of a cottage and a bandstand located at Honokaa
High & Elementary School, pursuant to Chapter 2, Article 19 of the
Hawaii County Code .
Your Committee on Finance has been informed that a surplus cottage
and bandstand are being considered for removal . The cottage will be
removed due to phasing out of teachers cottages . The bandstand will
be removed due to the discontinuance of use by the Hamakua Band .
Your committee is aware that, pursuant to Chapter 2, Article 19 of
the Hawaii County Code, the Council may authorize the Finance
Director to dispose of real property in a public auction. If no
acceptable bids are received, such property can be demolished and
removed expeditiously.
Your Committee on Finance concurs with the intent of Resolution
No. 430-88 and recommends its adoption.
