your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Communication
No . 1382, reports as follows:
The purpose of Communication No . 1382 is to recommend the
appointment of Ms . Lily Anna "Anna" Cariaga, a democrat from Kau, to
the Police Commission.
Ms . Cariaga, a senior community aide and energy educator for HCEOC,
will serve until December 31 , 1992, filling a vacancy which will be
created when the term of Mr . Kuniyoshi Arakaki expires on
December 31 , 1987 .
Pursuant to the provisions of Section 7-2. 2 of the Hawaii County
Charter and Section 52 of the Hawaii Revised Statutes, the Mayor
appoints members to the Police Commission with the approval of the
Council in the manner prescribed in Section 13-4 of the Hawaii
County Charter .
Your Committee on Finance recommends ap royal of the appointment of
Ms . Lily Anna "Anna" Cariaga to thece Commission.
