Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Communication
No . 1381 , reports as follows:
The purpose of Communication No . 1381 is to recommend the
appointment of Mr . Gilbert Kahele, a democrat from Hilo, to the
Police Commission .
Mr . Kahele, an air conditioning equipment mechanic at Pohakuloa
Training Area, will serve until December 31 , 1992, filling a vacancy
which will be created when the term of Ms . Yukino Fukabori expires
on December 31 , 1987 .
Pursuant to the provisions of Section 7-2. 2 of the Hawaii County
Charter and Section 52 of the Hawaii Revised Statutes , the Mayor
appoints members to the Police Commission with the approval of the
Council in the manner prescribed in Section 13-4 of the Hawaii
County Charter .
