Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Communication
4No . 1331 , reports as follows:
The purpose of Communication No . 1331 is to recommend the
appointment of Ms. Janice M. Mahuna , an independent from Hilo , to
the Board of Ethics .
Ms . Mahuna, a realtor with Jan Mahuna Realty, will serve until
December 31 , 1992, filling a vacancy which will be created when the
term of Ms . Yolanda M. "Lani" Kahawai expires on December 31, 1987 .
Pursuant to the provisions of Section 14-5 of the Hawaii County
Charter , the Mayor appoints members to the Board of Ethics with the
approval of the Council in the manner prescribed in Section 13-4 of
the Hawaii County Charter .
Your Committee on Finance recommends approval of the appointment of
Ms . Janice M. Mahuna to the Board of Ethics .
