RESOLUTION NO. -272 1
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE HAMAKUA
HEALTH CENTER INC. FOR THE 4th ANNUAL HAMAKUA-KOHALA HEALTH AND
WELLNESS FAIR.
WHEREAS, the Hamakua Health Center Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization
whose mission is to provide quality healthcare that is responsive to the patients' and
communities' needs; and
WHEREAS, the Hamakua Health Center Inc. is coordinating the 4th Annual Hamakua-
Kohala Health and Wellness Fair ("Health Fair"), which will be held on November 18, 2017, at
the Honoka`a Park gymnasium; and
WHEREAS,the main goal of the Health Fair is to provide health education to as many
people in need as possible; and
WHEREAS, an insurance booth will be available to encourage uninsured individuals to
sign up for healthcare coverage; and
WHEREAS, the Health Fair will also include food, music, door prizes, and keiki
activities; and
WHEREAS, funds are needed to help with entertainment (music,jumpers, and keiki
games), equipment and supplies (tents,tables, and chairs), door prizes, and other miscellaneous
expenses associated with the Health Fair; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code,
Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via
resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity,
service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that
Contingency Relief funds from Council District 1 will be appropriated to the Department of
Parks and Recreation to provide a grant to the Hamakua Health Center Inc. for expenses
associated with the 4th Annual Hamakua-Kohala Health and Wellness Fair.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby
transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Director of Parks and Recreation and Director of Finance, and that the Director
of Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of
this resolution.
