Dear Chairwoman Poindexter and Council Members:
It is my pleasure to nominate George Campbell of Council District 6 to the Salary
Commission. Mr. Campbell retired from the University of California system and
Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory serving in various upper level management
capacities. He has extensive experience in human resource management, safety and
environmental protection, and cultural sensitivity practices. Mr. Campbell received a BS
in Physics from the University of Nebraska, an MS in Radiation Biophysics from the
University of Kansas, and,an MBA from Golden Gate University in San Francisco.
Mr. Campbell believes in giving back hope to his community. He currently serves as the
President and Treasurer for the Hawaiian Ocean View Estate (HOVE) Road
Maintenance Corporation, Vice President of Ocean View Community Development
Corporation, Chair of the Naalehu United Methodist Church Staff Parish Relations
Committee, and member of the Methodist Church band.
Mr. Campbell has been a resident of Hawai'i since 2012 and is a member of the
Democratic Party. If confirmed, Mr. Campbell will serve to fill an un-expired term ending
December 31, 2017 and will qualify for re-appointment to a full 5-year term.
