RESOLUTION NO. 320 17
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DONATION
OF A CAMERA, PRINTER AND CAMCORDER TO THE HAWAII
COUNTY POLICE DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children is
donating a Powershot G16 digital camera valued at $499.99, a PIXMA MX 472
printer valued at $99.99 and a VIXIA HFR700 camcorder valued at $299.99 to the
Hawaii County Police Department; and
WHEREAS, this equipment will be used by the Department's Hilo Juvenile Aid
section to document investigations involving children; and
WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter provides
that the Council, on behalf of the County, may accept gifts of donations of money,
securities or other personal property or of real estate or any interest in real estate,
and Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162 (a) of the Hawaii County Code states that
any gifts or donations of money, securities, or personal property which fall within the
capitalization procedures of the Department of Finance, may be accepted by
resolution approved by the Council; and
WHEREAS, the Hawaii County Police Department recommends the
acceptance of this donation; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that in
accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter, and
Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162(a) of the Hawaii County Code, the Council of the
County of Hawaii accepts this donation.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that a letter of appreciation and a copy of this
resolution be sent to Ms. Joy Messenger, Executive Director, Chief Development
Officer, National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, Charles B. Wang
International Children's Building, 699 Prince Street, Alexandria, Virginia 22314-3175,
acknowledging this generous donation.
