If the contractor states the shore birds are thriving in the.area now why kill all these other bird and animal species? There may be a "balance established" between the "rat predators" with the mongoose and cats hunting them and managing their population. Once you eliminate them you could have a rat infestation and you know they go after the seabird babies and the eggs! Also placing "bated traps" along the property's " outer edge" will only invite more predators to the area. Just south of the area is a managed &fed feral spayed cat colony. And you want to kill them as well? I say leave well enough alone unless their is obvious proof that they are to blame for killing of sea birds.
