RESOLUTION NO. 340 1
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT FOR THE 2018 ANNUAL OUTSTANDING OLDER
AMERICANS AWARD LUNCHEON.
WHEREAS, May is recognized as Older Americans Month, a time to celebrate and
honor the contributions that seniors have made and continue to make in our community and our
nation; and
WHEREAS, Older Americans Month occurs annually and dates back to 1963 when
President John F. Kennedy, through a proclamation, designated May as Senior Citizens Month,
which was later renamed Older Americans Month; and
WHEREAS,the Office of Aging is requesting funds to assist with expenses associated
with hosting the 2018 Annual Outstanding Older Americans Award Luncheon for honored
seniors; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that
Contingency Relief funds from Council District 9 will be appropriated to the Office of Aging to
assist with expenses associated with the 2018 Annual Outstanding Older Americans Award
Luncheon on May 4, 2018.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby
transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Executive on Aging and Director of Finance, and that the Director of Finance is
hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this resolution.
