RESOLUTION NO. 34i 17
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PURCHASE MICROSOFT SQL SERVER
LICENSES TO UPGRADE THE LASERFICHE SOFTWARE AT THE OFFICE OF THE
PROSECUTING ATTORNEY.
WHEREAS, the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney is responsible for the timely and
efficient prosecution of all violations of State and County laws, ordinances, rules, and
regulations; and
WHEREAS, the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney would like to install a LegalEdge
Software program to replace its current case management system that has become obsolete and
inefficient; and
WHEREAS, the LegalEdge Software program will have the capability to interface with
five external systems that the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney uses to input and retrieve data;
and
WHEREAS, before LegalEdge Software can be implemented, the Laserfiche software
needs to be upgraded to be compatible with the new system; and
WHEREAS, the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney has requested financial assistance to
purchase new licenses to upgrade the Microsoft SQL Servers for the Laserfiche upgrade; now,
therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that
Contingency Relief funds from Council District 6 will be appropriated to the Office of the
Prosecuting Attorney to purchase Microsoft SQL Server licenses to upgrade its Laserfiche
software.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby
transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Prosecuting Attorney and Director of Finance, and that the Director of Finance
is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this
resolution.
