Dear Chairwoman Poindexter and Council Members:
It is my pleasure to nominate Jeffrey Coakley of Kapaau, to the North Kohala
Community Development Plan Action Committee. Mr. Coakley is employed with the
County of Hawai'i as a Sr. Pool Lifeguard and a former real estate broker.
Mr. Coakley is a graduate of the Kamehameha School for Boys and attended several
years of college including the College of San Mateo, Leeward Community and Hawai'i
Community Colleges.
Mr. Coakley has lived in Kohala for over 41 years. He is active in the community and
has served as past President of the North Kohala Hawai'i Civic Club, past President of
the No. Kohala Jaycees, and past President and Vice President of the Kohala
Community Association. He has also worked extensively with the youths of Kohala as a ,
cultural conservation instructor and as a swim and soccer coach.
Mr. Coakley is a registered Republican. If confirmed, he will serve a term ending
September 9, 2020.
