RESOLUTION NO. 355 17
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PURCHASE MICROSOFT SQL SERVER
LICENSES TO UPGRADE THE LASERFICHE SOFTWARE AT THE OFFICE OF THE
PROSECUTING ATTORNEY.
WHEREAS, the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney strives for the just disposition of
criminal cases and the promotion of public safety and order through timely, efficient, and
effective prosecution; and
WHEREAS, the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney relies heavily on the use of
electronic data collection, analysis, management, and organization; and
WHEREAS, the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney would like to install a LegalEdge
Software program to replace its current case management system that has become obsolete and
inefficient; and
WHEREAS, the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney first needs to upgrade its Laserfiche
software so that it can integrate with the new case management system, which will require new
Microsoft SQL Server licenses for the upgrade; and
WHEREAS, the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney has requested financial assistance to
purchase new licenses to upgrade the Microsoft SQL Servers for the Laserfiche upgrade; now,
therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that
Contingency Relief funds from Council District 4 will be appropriated to the Office of the
Prosecuting Attorney to puchase Microsoft SQL Server licenses to upgrade its Laserfiche
software.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby
transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Prosecuting Attorney and Director of Finance, and that the Director of Finance
is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this
resolution.
