RESOLUTION NO. 3G0
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT FOR THE OUTSTANDING OLDER AMERICAN
AWARD LUNCHEON.
WHEREAS, in 1963, President John F. Kennedy issued a proclamation designating May
as Older Americans Month to acknowledge the contributions of older persons to our country, in
particular those who defended our country; and
WHEREAS, every American president since 1963 has issued a formal proclamation
during or before the month of May asking the nation to pay tribute to older persons in their
communities; and
WHEREAS, the Office of Aging sponsors an annual Outstanding Older Americans
Award Luncheon that honors our kupuna for their volunteerism and selfless service to their
communities; and
WHEREAS, the Office of Aging is requesting funds for activities, advertising, and other
expenses associated with the preparation for the 2018 Outstanding Older Americans Award
Luncheon; which will be held on May 4, 2018; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that
Contingency Relief funds from Council District 4 will be appropriated to the Office of Aging for
expenses related to the preparation for the 2018 Outstanding Older Americans Award Luncheon.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby
transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the County Executive on Aging and Director of Finance, and that the Director of
Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this
resolution.
