RESOLUTION NO. 364 17
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PURCHASE MICROSOFT SQL SERVER
LICENSES TO UPGRADE THE LASERFICHE SOFTWARE AT THE OFFICE OF THE
PROSECUTING ATTORNEY.
WHEREAS, one of the goals of the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney is to improve the
criminal justice system by identifying areas of need and working collaboratively with other
criminal justice agencies and the community; and
WHEREAS, to improve its electronic case management system,the Office of the
Prosecuting Attorney would like to install LegalEdge Software, which will have the ability to
interface with the five external systems being used to input and retrieve data; and
WHEREAS, the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney first needs to upgrade its Laserfiche
software so that it can integrate with the new case management system; and
WHEREAS, in order to upgrade Laserfiche,the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney
needs to purchase new licenses to upgrade its Microsoft SQL Servers; and
WHEREAS, the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney has requested financial assistance to
purchase Microsoft SQL Server licenses, which are required for the Laserfiche upgrade and its
integration with the new case management system; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that
Contingency Relief funds from Council District 9 will be appropriated to the Office of the
Prosecuting Attorney to purchase Microsoft SQL Server licenses for the Laserfiche upgrade.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby
transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Prosecuting Attorney and Director of Finance, and that the Director of Finance
is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this
resolution.
