RESOLUTION NO. 376 17
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A
DONATION OF A TACTICAL RIFLE FOR USE BY THE HAWAII
COUNTY POLICE DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, a Former U. S. Secret Service Special Agent is donating a
tactical rifle to the Hawaii County Police Department; and
WHEREAS, this equipment will be employed by the Hawai`i County Police
Department's Special Response Team; and
WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter
provides that the Council, on behalf of the County, may accept gifts of donations
of money, securities or other personal property or of real estate or any interest in
real estate, and Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162 (a) of the Hawaii County
Code states that any gifts or donations of money, securities, or personal property
which fall within the capitalization procedures of the Department of Finance, may
be accepted by resolution approved by the Council; and
WHEREAS, the Hawaii County Police Department recommends the
acceptance of this donation; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that in
accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter, and
Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162(a) of the Hawaii County Code, the Council of the
County of Hawaii accepts this donation.
