Aloha!
I wanted to voice my support for this bill because this is crucial to the preservation of our environment. Styrofoam is
one of the most littered and least recycled forms of plastic ever invented! Styrofoam pollutes our water,our land,its
toxic and doesn't biodegrade...especially with so many alternative,safer options there is no need for it anymore
especially when you weigh the costs of this pollutant.Just this past weekend I was up at Makua beach and there was
styrofoam pieces everywhere on the beach and in the tide pools-it was so disheartening and there was so much it
prompted me to reach out to local environmental organizations to request we schedule a cleanup! This is so harmful
for the water and animals,plus it will hurt tourism in the future if our beaches continue to clutter.Maui just passed a
ban,its time to follow suit and do the right thing for our planet,the people,tourism,and Hawaii! Please vote in
favor!The more companies stop using this product and use other alternatives,the cheaper those alternatives will be!
