Cc: Candy Casper -- Subject: Fwd: Support Bill 31-Polystyrene reduction 2017 SEP -'S AN 8• 3 Date: Monday,September 04,2017 3:10:50 PM To the council, I concur with my wife on bill 13. We spend too much time picking up polystyrene on cleanups. Likewise, it's time to move forward and end the use of polystyrene. It's the right thing to do and its long overdue.. There are many things about life on this island that are wonderful. Trash is not one of them, and un-recyclable trash even more so. It's time to start doing the right thing, and not necessarily what has been done in years past. Even though it may not be a perfect bill, it is a step in the right direction. Pass this bill. Please. For you, for me, for the children, and for the future of this island. ✓Jim Casper Na'alehu Forwarded message From: Candy Casper<can.dy.casper(ir,gmail.com> Date: Mon, Sep 4, 2017 at 2:48 PM Subject: Fwd: Support Bill 31 - Polystyrene reduction To: Jim Casper<jimcaspagmail.com> Forwarded message From: Candy Casper<can.dy.casper(cgmail.com> Date: Mon, Sep 4, 2017 at 2:47 PM Subject: Support Bill 31 - Polystyrene reduction To: counciltestimony(u),hawaiicounty.gov Please support Bill 31 to reduce polystyrene on Hawaii Island. My husband and I participate in beach cleanups on a regular basis, and on our own, and are constantly picking up this crap. I also hate that it is filling our land fills. The cost to the businesses cannot be worse than what it is doing to the environment. I certainly don't want to hear that is the Hawaiian culture. That is a cop out.
