Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 343-17, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 343-17, transmitted by Finance Director Collins Tomei, via Communication
No. 505 dated September 29, 2017, authorizes the Mayor to enter into an agreement with the
Office of Research Services, University of Hawai`i.
This agreement provides $8,250 from the Department of Research and Development to the Office
of Research Services, University of Hawai`i, to fund its "The Analysis of Agricultural By-
Products to be used as Animal Feeds on Hawai`i Island"proposal. Funds would be used to
determine the availability, quality, and ideal storage methods of agricultural by-products for use
as animal feed.
There was no discussion on this measure.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 343-17,
and recommends its adoption.
