Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 344-17, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 344-17, transmitted by Finance Director Collins Tomei, via Communication
No. 506 dated September 29, 2017, authorizes the Mayor to enter into an agreement with the
Office of Research Services, University of Hawaii.
This agreement provides $12,000 from the Department of Research and Development to the
Office of Research Services, University of Hawai`i, to fund its "Organic Treatment for Little Fire
Ants"proposal. Funds would be used to investigate organic options that meet the Organic
Materials Review Institute requirements for use of products by certified organic farmers.
There was no discussion on this measure.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 344-17,
and recommends its adoption.
