We who have been feeding, trapping, and spay/neutering feral cats for years believe strongly that feral cats are not
the cause of depredation of the wild birds the State is attempting to preserver. Indeed, other birds, mongoose, and
vicious human beings are more likely the culprits. The traps that are proposed are facinorously inhumane;l it is
remarkably incongruous that those who would presume to save one species of animal would do so with instruments
that are inimical to the very tenet of humaneness. Shame. The answer to the feral cats problem,if indeed they are a
problem(and most would claim that they are not)is to allow for,nay foster, trapping for spay/neuter clinics and
returning them to the only home they have ever known. Only bureaucratic thoughtlessness and self-serving policy
would allow for such anticipated maleficence.
