I wish to add my voice to those requesting improvements to Water Bill #65.
Specific issues that need to be addressed include:
• The problems concerning reliance on new high level mauka wells that,have already been
demonstrated to be inadequate for current needs;
• Need to develop measurable and enforceable conservation measures for such private users as golf
courses;
• The need for meaningful community input in this planning process both now and in the future;
• The need for systematic identification and preservation of impacted natural/cultural resources;
• Inclusion of kupuna and cultural practitioners who know the coastal resources well; and
• Recognition that the future for Kona area is shown to be drier.
