Your Committee on Economic Development, to which was referred
/kesolution No. 457-88 , regarding support for television station
KHBC' s application with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC)
to extend its air coverage to areas served by Cablevision on the
Big Island, reports as follows:
The purpose of Resolution No . 457-88 is to recognize KHBC, the only
television station in the State originating its programming outside
of Oahu, and to support this independent television station 's
efforts to broaden their air coverage on the Big Island and thereby
assisting in the communications between East and West Hawaii .
Your Committee on Economic Development concurs with Resolution
No . 457-88 and recommends its adoption .
