Your Committee on Planning, to which was referred Resolution
No. 481-88, regarding the naming of streets , reports as follows :
The purpose of this resolution is to name roadways in the Keaau
Agricultural Lots, Keaau, Puna, Hawaii . The street names and their
translations, as indicated in Exhibit "A" of the resolution, are as
follows :
Ipu' aiwaha Street -- Watermelon
North Ipu ' aiwaha Place -- Watermelon
South Ipu ' aiwaha Place -- Watermelon
Kaloke Place -- Carrot
Kapiki Place -- Cabbage
Kulina Road -- Corn
Lekuke Place -- Lettuce
Meaulu Street -- Vegetable
Pa ' ahana Street -- Busy; engaged in work
Pala 'ai Street -- Pumpkin
Palula Street -- Cooked sweet potato leaf
Palula Place -- Cooked sweet potato leaf
Puko Street -- Clump of sugar cane
Pursuant to Chapter 22, Article 2, Section 22-35, Hawaii County Code ,
the County Council is authorized to adopt street names for
Hawaii County ' s unnamed roadways .
