Your Committee on Planning, to which was referred Bill No . 529 ,
regarding the State Land Use Boundary amendment request of
Stella Chang, Kaauhuhu, North Kohala, Hawaii , TMK : 5-5-02 :Portion
of 39 , reports as follows :
Bill No . 529 amends the State Land Use Boundaries Map, H-13 , of the
County of Hawaii , by changing the district classification of
82 , 737 square feet of land from the Agricultural to the Urban
district .
The applicant is requesting the land use change to enable her to
rezone the property to residential use . A portion of the property is
already within the Urban District .
The State Department of Agriculture does not have any objections to
the application and has stated, "Under these circumstances , the
Department of Agriculture is of the opinion that the approval of the
subject reclassification along with the rezoning application will not
adversely affect the agricultural resources of the area . "
Your Committee on Planning is in accord with the intent and purpose
of Bill No . 529 and recommends that it pass first reading .
