Your Committee on Planning, to which was referred Resolution
No. 425-88 , regarding the naming of streets , reports as follows:
The purpose of this resolution is to name roadways in
Kula-Keaau Subdivision, Units 3 and 4. The resolution names the
roadways illustrated in Exhibit "A" of the resolution, Hame Street ,
which is the name of a tree which stands about 20-30 feet tall;
Kikania Street, which is the name of a course herb which bears a
tenacious bur about an inch long, and Kaluha Place which translates
to papyrus .
Pursuant to Chapter 22 , Article 2 , Section 22-35 , Hawaii County Code,
the County Council is authorized to adopt street names for Hawaii
County ' s unnamed roadways .
Your Committee on Planning concurs with Resolution No . 425-88 and
recommends its adoption .
