Your Committee on Planning, to which was referred Resolution
No . 365-87 , regarding street names , reports as follows:
The purpose of Resolution No . 365-87 is to name the roadway in
Ponahawai , South Hilo . The resolution names the roadway (illustrated
in Exhibit "A" of the resolution ) Kaikuono Place , meaning inlet or
gulf bay .
The County Council is authorized to adopt street names , pursuant to
Section 22-35 , Article 2, Chapter 22, Hawaii County Code .
Your Committee on Planning concurs with Resolution No . 365-87 and
recommends its adoption .
