Your Committee on Planning, to which was referred Resolution
No . 364-87 , regarding the naming of streets , reports as follows:
The purpose of Resolution No . 364-87 is to name three roadways within
the Panaewa Agricultural Park in Waiakea, South Hilo . The resolution
2names the roadways , shown in Exhibit "A" of the resolution as follows:
1 . Awa Street , meaning port , harbor ; channel or passage , as
through a reef
2 . South Kalo Street , meaning Taro
3 . Patti 0 Pala 'e Street , another name for the pala 'a fern
(Sphenomeris chusana )
The County Council is authorized to adopt street names in the County
of Hawaii pursuant to Section 22-35 , Article 2, Chapter 22, Hawaii
County Code .
Your Committee on Planning concurs with Resolution No . 364-87 and
recommends its adoption . 8
