Your Committee on Planning, to which was referred Bill No . 325,
regarding the rezoning request of Viking Properties, Inc. , Waiakea ,
South Hilo, TMK: 2-2-35 : 72, reports as follows :
Bill 325 amends Section 25-114 , Article 3, Chapter 25 of the
Hawaii County Code, by changing the district classification of
approximately 12,482 square feet of land from Open (0) to
Limited Industrial (ML-10 ) .
Committee Chairman Takashi Domingo informed the committee members
that he is proposing that Condition (D) of the bill be amended to
disallow access to the property via Kanoelehua Avenue . Access will
be limited to Hualani Street .
The applicant plans to repair and renovate an existing structure on
the property and to use it as a wholesaling and distribution facility .
The General Plan designates the property for industrial use . Water
and other essential utilities and services are readily available to
the property.
concurs with Chairman Domingo' s Your committee proposed amendment.
As such , Bill 325 , Condition (D) , is amended to disallow access to
the property via Kanoelehua Avenue.
Your Committee on Planning is in accord with the intent and purpose
of Bill 325, Draft 2, and recommends that it pass first reading.
