Your Committee on Planning, to which was referred
Communication No. 913, reports as follows :
(Communication No. 913 is a report from Councilman Russell Kokubun of
a meeting of the Inter-Governmental Relations Committee of the
Hawaii State Association of Counties which was held on January 16,
1987 .
Councilman Kokubun reported on a meeting with Senator Russell Blair
and Representative Mike Crozier, which centered around the following
subject matters:
1. Public Highways
2. Parking & Traffic Violations
3. Parks
4. Lifeguards
5 . Human Services
6. Taxation & Revenues
Councilman Kokubun also touched on items which will be included in
the HSAC Legislative Package. These items are: Hotel Room Tax,
Grants-in-Aid, Excise Tax and Private Wastewater Treatment System.
Your Committee on Planning recommends that the County Council support
the efforts of Councilman Kokubun and the Inter-Governmental
Relations Committee.
