Your Committee on Planning, to which was referred Communication
/No . 908 , reports as follows :
Communication No . 908 is a letter from Corporation Counsel Ronald
Ibarra transmitting a bill to amend the Hawaii Revised Statutes by
adding a new chapter to read "Tort Liability Act . "
The bill , according to Mr . Ibarra , is patterned after the State Tort
Liability Act and will provide relief to the counties just as the
State Tort Liability Act does to the State .
The bill is part of the administration 's legislative package for the
1987 session . 'Mr . Ibarra is recommending that the County Council
"advocate the passage of the bill . "
Your Committee on Planning recommends that the County Councilsupport
the Corporation Counsel 's legislative bill on tort liability .
