Your Committee on Planning, to which was referred
Resolution No. 252-87 , regarding the National Park Service ' s plan to
charge entrance fees at the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park and
Pu 'uhonua 0 Honaunau National Historical Park on the Big Island
beginning February 2, 1987, reports as follows :
The purpose of this resolution is to urge the United States Congress
to take the necessary steps to exempt Hawaii residents from having to
pay the entrance fees .
Your Committee on Planning concurs with Resolution 252-87 and
recommends its adoption.
