Your Committee on Planning, to which was referred
Resolution No. 251-87 , regarding the Hawaiian community ' s plan for a
year-long series of events in recognition of the ancient strength and
beauty of the Hawaiian culture, reports as follows :
The commemoration has been named "Ho'olako" -- imperfectly translated
as "The Enriching" -- in recognition of the Hawaiian culture .
The purpose of the resolution is to congratulate the
Hawaiian community and Hawaii County ' s Ho 'olako Committee on its
planning for 1987 as "The Year of the Hawaiian: Ho 'olako. "
Your Committee 'on Planning concurs with Resolution No. 251-87 and
recommends its adoption.
