Your Committee on Planning, to which was referred
Resolution No . 174-86 , regarding possible uses of facilities at
Hilo 's General Lyman Field, reports as follows:
The purpose of this resolution is to support Mr . Walter Miller ' s
proposal to utilize the land and facilities at Lyman Field for an
air cargo/maintenance complex .
This support, however , will be contingent upon the results of a
feasibility study currently being conducted by the State and County
Governments to determine whether or not a cargo distribution center
would be an economically viable use of Lyman Field . Mr . Miller 's
proposal will be given support only if the study should conclude that
such a facility would not be an economically feasible use of
Lyman Field.
Your Committee on Planning concurs with Resolution No . 174-86 and
recommends its adoption .
