Your Committee on Planning, to which was referred
Communication No. 395 regarding a report on the
HSAC Intergovernmental Relations Committee meeting of
December 16 , 1985 , reports as follows :
This communication requires action on a proposal for inclusion in
HSAC 's 1986 legislative package . The proposal amends Chapter 237 ,
Hawaii Revised Statutes relating to general excise tax by granting
the counties the authority to levy, assess , and collect annually
privilege taxes not exceeding one percent.
Your Committee is in agreement with this proposal and recommends
Council 's approval for inclusion in the 1986 legislative package .
