Your Committee on Planning to which was referred Bill No. 22,
regarding the rezoning request of William Vannatta, Waimea
Homesteads, South Kohala, TMK: 6-5-4 :21 ( 2.583 acres ) reports as
follows:
The purpose of this bill is to change the district classification of
this 2.583 acre parcel from Agricultural 1-acre (A-la) to Single
Family Residential 10 ,000 square feet (RS-10 ) .
The property is located on the northeast side of Spencer Road,
approximately 2,000 feet northeast of the Lindsey Road-Kapiolani Road
intersection. The surrounding properties include single-family
dwellings, vacant land and pastures.
There is an existing single-family dwelling on the property. The
petitioner is proposing to keep this dwelling and build nine
additional units . Rather than subdividing the property, the
petitioner is proposing to develop the project under a Horizontal
Property Regime . •
Bill No. 22 passed first reading on March 6 , 1985 , and was referred
back to committee as per recommendation of the Planning Committee .
Your Committee on Planning in now in full accord with the intent and
purpose of Bill No. 22 and recommends that it pass second reading .
