A*-* 1,1OF M•• , <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII �*= STATE OF HAWAII <br /> •rE • <br /> OFHF' <br /> � � <br /> • <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 399 �.:Q7 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO GOING HOME <br /> HAWAII FOR ITS IN-REACH AND REINTEGRATION PILOT PROJECT IN WEST <br /> HAWAII. <br /> WHEREAS, Going Home Hawai`i is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization created to assist <br /> offenders that have been released from correctional institutions to reintegrate into the <br /> community; and <br /> WHEREAS, Going Home Hawai`i's "In-Reach and Reintegration"pilot project in West <br /> Hawai`i is designed to reduce the numbers of chronically homeless and mentally ill individuals <br /> incarcerated at the Hawai`i Community Correctional Center, including those with co-occurring <br /> substance use disorders; and <br /> WHEREAS, one of the goals of the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney is to improve the <br /> criminal justice system by identifying areas of need and working collaboratively with other <br /> criminal justice agencies and the community; and <br /> WHEREAS, Going Home Hawai`i is seeking funds to help pay for housing expenses, <br /> transportation to and from compliance appointments, client monitoring, and related intensive <br /> case management needs; and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY.THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 8 will be appropriated to the Office of the <br /> Prosecuting Attorney to provide a grant to Going Home Hawai`i for its In-Reach and <br /> Reintegration Pilot Project in West Hawai`i. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
