Nom; . <br /> • <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII -•_ � STATE OF HAWAII <br /> • EOF ....'`. <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 41®5 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE KONA TAHITI <br /> FETE EDUCATIONAL AND CULTURAL ASSOCIATION FOR THE KONA TAHITI <br /> FETE 2017 FESTIVAL. <br /> WHEREAS, the Kona Tahiti Fete Educational and Cultural Association is a 501(c)(3) <br /> nonprofit organization whose mission is to contribute to the enrichment of youth and young <br /> adults by enhancing their understanding of their ancestral heritage; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Kona Tahiti Fete Educational and Cultural Association and the TeMana <br /> Rose Tahitian School of Dance hosted the Kona Tahiti Fete 2017 festival from October 29 <br /> through November 8; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Kona Tahiti Fete 2017 festival consisted of various Polynesian groups <br /> that shared their culture through dance, craft, music, art, language, and cuisine at various venues <br /> throughout West Hawai`i; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Kona Tahiti Fete Educational and Cultural Association has requested <br /> funds as a reimbursement for transportation costs incurred during the Kona Tahiti Fete 2017 <br /> festival; and <br /> WHEREAS,the Kona Tahiti Fete 2017 festival falls within the Department of Parks and <br /> Recreation's culture and education program that promotes, perpetuates, and encourages activities <br /> and programs in culture, art, history, and the humanities; and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 2 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Parks and Recreation to provide a grant to the Kona Tahiti Fete Educational and Cultural <br /> Association for reimbursement of transportation expenses incurred duirng the Kona Tahiti Fete <br /> 2017 festival. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
