Poindexter at 5 p.m., in the Council Chambers, Kailua-Kona. ATTENDANCE: Present: Ms. Valerie T. Poindexter, Chair Ms. Karen Eoff, Vice Chair Mr. Aaron S. Y. Chung, Member Ms. Maile Medeiros David, Member Mr. Dru Mamo Kanuha, Member Ms. Susan L. K. Lee Loy, Member Ms. Eileen O’Hara, Member Mr. Herbert M. “Tim” Richards, III, Member Ms. Jennifer Ruggles, Member PURPOSE OF CHR. POINDEXTER: Pursuant to the requirements of Chapter 243, HEARING: Section 243-5 of the Hawai‘i Revised Statutes, notice is hereby given that the following public hearing—this public hearing is held today for the purpose of considering the fuel tax rates for the County of Hawai‘i. Paul Patnode: in opposition. Joyce Alberta Folena: in support. Gregory T. Smith: comment. Aaron Stene: in support. Floyd Eaglin: comment. Tom Cumming: in support. Point of Order: MR. KANUHA: Madam Chair,just a point of order. I know a couple of members asked if we would debate tonight, but just can you explain that this is just a public hearing? CHR. POINDEXTER: Yeah, it's a public hearing— MR. KANUHA: And tomorrow, we're going to be doing— CHR. POINDEXTER: Yeah. So, there's no discussion at this public hearing. But tomorrow, we will be going into full discussion and you're welcome to come back and testify on that item as well tomorrow. And then we will have a—you can stay for the discussion that we will have among our Council Members. So, thank you very much, and thank you.
