Re: Operating Budget
Enclosed is a bill for an ordinance appropriating $4,919.60 that the Hawai i
County Fire Department received from the Daniel R. Sayre Memorial
Foundation for the purchase of necessary equipment for the Waiakea and
Kailua rescue stations to increase safety and efficiency while engaged in high
angle rescues.
As Resolution No. 91-99 to accept the donation was passed by the Hawaii
County Council on June 23, 1999, the department would like this bill to be
heard by the Council at its September 22, 1999 meeting.
If there are any questions, please do not hesitate to call the Hawaii County Fire
Department.

The Hawaii County Fire Department received a grant to purchase
needed rescue equipment from the Daniel R. Sayre Memorial Fund.
This fund was established in 1998 to honor members of the County
Fire/Rescue units.

RE: Bill No. 126 ,appropriating $4,919.60 to the Hawaii County Fire Department
which was received from the Daniel R. Sayre Memorial Foundation.
Pursuant to Section 1(e) of Rule 4 of the Rules of Procedure of the Council of the County of
Hawaii, this written request is submitted with my approval that the above-referenced matter be
waived from the Committee on Finance to the full Council for immediate action. In reviewing
this matter, timely approval is crucial. It is therefore advantageous that approval is granted and
the matter placed onto the next Council agenda for review. However, in the event this request is
denied, for whatever reason, I understand the matter shall be referred to the Committee on
Finance for placement on its future agenda.
