B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED): This donation was given to the Hawaii County Office of Aging to expand the services of the Kupuna Care program. HCOA's contract with the State Executive Office on Aging requires that we provide an opportunity for people to contribute to the program and that those contributions be used to increase units provided under the contract. In this case, we intend to use the $500.00 donation to purchase additional units of in-home services for eligible kupuna. This donation was made by a family to show appreciation for the services offered under the Kupuna Care program and we sincerely appreciate this generosity which will enable us to provide more services to frail kupuna in our community.
