Reflecting the general slow pace of development within Big Island master planned resorts, there has been little new development at Mauna Lani Resort since the last formal annual report was submitted to you in 1993. Essentially, some single-family construction has occurred and improvements have been made to existing projects as ownership has changed hands. In addition, the Resort decided not to go forward with The Cove project. Recently, Mauna Lani sold the multifamily/resort development parcel adjacent to Honokaope Bay to Sea Cliff Development. The company intends to develop the site as a single-family lot subdivision called 49 Black Sand Beach. A model unit for this project has been constructed. Please contact me if you have any questions.
