A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE HAWAII ARTIST
COLLABORATION TO PURCHASE ART SUPPLIES AND MATERIALS FOR
KAHAKAI ELEMENTARY SCHOOL.
WHEREAS, the Hawai`i Artist Collaboration is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization
whose mission is to create opportunities for artists, art organizations, and educators to integrate
their collective knowledge, experiences, and resources for the benefit of society and the
Hawaiian culture; and
WHEREAS, the Hawai`i Artist Collaboration previously assisted Kealakehe Elementary.
School with providing art supplies to its students and would now like to assist Kahakai
Elementary School; and
WHEREAS, the Hawaii Artist Collaboration is requesting funds to purchase art
supplies and materials such as paint, clay, markers, paper, watercolors, and glue for students at
Kahakai Elementary School; and
WHEREAS, one of the goals of the Department of Liquor Control is to support
educational youth programs that promote alcohol- and drug-free activities; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code,
Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via
resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event,
activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now,
therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that
Contingency Relief funds from Council District 7 will be appropriated to the Department of
Liquor Control to provide a grant to the Hawai`i Artist Collaboration to purchase art supplies and
materials for students at Kahakai Elementary School.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby
transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Director of Liquor Control and Director of Finance, and that the Director of
Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this
resolution.
