No. 572 <br /> PLACE: Council Chambers <br /> Kailua-Kona, Hawai`i <br /> TIME: 9:21 a.m. <br /> Council Chair and Members <br /> Hawai`i County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawai`i 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Public Works and Parks and Recreation,to which was referred <br /> Communication No. 572, reports as follows: <br /> Communication No. 572, transmitted by Mayor Harry Kim, dated October 25, 2017, nominates <br /> Ms. Carolle Brulee-Wilson to the Veterans Advisory Committee. Ms. Brulee-Wilson served in the <br /> United States Navy from 1982-1996 and was honorably discharged with medals. <br /> Ms. Brulee-Wilson has been a resident of Hawai`i for over 21 years and has volunteered her time with <br /> the Disabled American Veterans, Office of Veterans Services Advisory Board,Hilo Veterans Day <br /> Parade committee, and many others. <br /> Ms. Brulee-Wilson appeared in the Kailua-Kona Council Chambers and shared her experiences of <br /> actively seeking veterans at their homes and advocating for services and needs that the veterans were <br /> entitled to. She stated she is not affiliated with any political party. If confirmed, she will serve a term <br /> ending December 31, 2018. <br /> Several Council Members commented in favor of Ms. Brulee-Wilson. Chair Ruggles stated that <br /> Ms. Brulee-Wilson did not need to appear at the Council meeting on December 5, 2017, for <br /> confirmation of her appointment. <br /> Pursuant to Chapter 15, Article 7, Section 15-61 of the Hawai`i County Code, the Mayor shall <br /> appoint, with the approval of Council, a representative from various veteran associations to serve <br /> on the Veterans Advisory Committee. <br /> Your Committee on Public Works and Parks and Recreation is in accord with the purpose <br /> and intent of Communication No. 572, and recommends confirmation of the appointment of <br /> Ms. Carolle Brulee-Wilson to the Veterans Advisory Committee. <br /> nh <br /> AYES NOES ABS EX Respectfully submitted, <br /> CHUNG X <br /> DAVID x COMMITTEE ON PUBLIC WORKS AND <br /> EOFF x PARKS AND RECREATION <br /> KANUHA X <br /> LEE LOY X <br /> O'HARA X � . <br /> POINDEXTER x J.
