Re: Alexa Russell, et al., v. County of Hawaii, Civil No. 97-01102 SPK
We respectfully request that the following resolution be assigned to the appropriate
Council member and committee, if necessary, so that, it maybe taken up at the next regularly
scheduled County Council meeting:
1. Resolution Adopting the American with Disabilities Act (ADA} Self-Evaluation
and Transition Plan for Programs of the Department of Parks and Recreation.
We further request that the resolution be waived past committee meetings. The subject
matter of this resolution has also been discussed with the County Council during executive
session on April 15, 1998.

Alexa Russell, et al., v. County of Hawaii, Civil No. 97-01102 SPK
Pursuant to Section 1(e) of Rule 4 of the Rules of Procedure of the Council of the County of
Hawaii, this written request is submitted with my approval that the above-referenced matter be
waived from the Committee on Finance to the full Council for immediate action. In reviewing
this matter, timely approval is crucial. It is therefore advantageous that approval is granted and
the matter placed onto the next Council agenda for review. However, in the event this request is
denied, for whatever reason, I understand the matter shall be referred to the Committee on
Finance for placement on its future agenda.
