SUBJECT: TRAFFIC CODE AMENDMENT
Downtown Freight Loading Zones
In November 1998, our Traffic Division submitted a proposal to the Downtown Improvement
Association informing them that certain freight loading zones covered in Schedule 36 of the
Hawaii County Code will be deleted and/or adjusted because the freight loading zones either
obstruct traffic or are not used.
Since we have not received any objections, we will proceed with the amendment to delete and
adjust freight loading zones in Downtown Hilo. A location map is attached.
We ask for your review and consideration for adoption of the subject amendment. Should you
have any questions, please contact Richard Nishimura, Traffic Division Chief, at 961-8341.
